Congratulations and happy Substack anniversary! I am really happy to have found the kindred spirit in you too. ❤️You have been like a beacon to me when I first started writing in Substack. The upcoming topics you mentioned have already piqued my interest, so keep writing!

Congrats on this milestone, Tiffany! I couldn't stop smiling through the video - good on you for putting yourself out there even if it feels awkward! If I knew you were going to share my public breakdown moment, I would have written it in a more compelling way (and maybe left out my FOMO over the in-flight snacks) 😂 Jokes aside, I'm glad that note meant something to you! Joining Substack has been the highlight of the year for me, and I really can't thank you enough for sharing words that inspired me to write again.

Aww Heidi hahaha. Your comment will stay with me for a long time. I didn't know my words could have such an impact, so it means a lot that you shared that with me. I'm so glad you're writing and sharing it here, too!

Enormously huge congrats! Loved seeing you on the video and hearing your voice. I am so proud of you and all you have accomplished in this past year. It is such an amazing and wonderful place we have here to grow in our passions. I think we both would like to make more money on this project but perhaps that will come with time! I have been thinking about my own first anniversary article for next month and maybe I will record a short video as well. Congrats my friend and can't wait to see what come in year two.

I’m so happy you did a video message to us as well. Happy Substack Birthday. I think something like freedom as a writer was born when you ventured out into this world last year. I for one feel very blessed to be one of your friends here. Thank you for all you do. Since I started writing about five months ago here, meeting you (and some others) has made this such a sweet experience. Blessings on this fellowship.

I love how you share the ways Substack has helped you grow as as writer rather than focusing primarily on success in terms of numbers. It is amazing to have a space to share ideas and get responses from a variety of engaged readers.

Your goals sound exciting! I wish you a wonderful second year on Substack!

Thank you so much, Kathleen! I definitely wanted to start this way, since these have been the most important parts of my experience on Substack. Next week, I'll get into more of the nitty gritty. :)

Thank you, again Tiffany, for hope and showing me what’s possible for someone who also varies between wanting to share deeply while also afraid to be seen. I can handle feedback about my writing much easier than the potential fear of anyone judging the life side of my writing. You remind me that I’m not alone in my feeling odd and this is a lovely virtual space to find kindred, accepting folks. Just about ready to finally try. 🧡 I really needed this list more than the metrics. Much more valuable, imo!

"I can handle feedback about my writing much easier than the potential fear of anyone judging the life side of my writing." That's SUCH a relatable feeling to me. I still get nervous the night before a post goes out (which is why I always schedule them for the middle of my night when I'm sleeping haha). Wonder if that fear will ever go away.

I'm so proud of you for wanting to try stepping out, and cheering you on, Alyssa.
